Fred gets "gold" sponsor

Well, I guess our friend Fred has officially "made it" in conservative talk radio. I know this because there's a press release going around today that the Fred Thompson Show is now sponsored by Goldline, who also sponsors the shows of Glenn Beck and Laura Ingraham. Goldline should not be confused with Goldcentral.com, who sponsors Rush, or Stanford Coin & Bullion, who used to sponsor Hannity. Those gold companies have certainly figured out their target market, haven't they?

From the release:
Former U.S. senator and 2008 presidential candidate Fred Thompson has selected Goldline International, Inc. as his exclusive gold dealer and will be endorsing Goldline on his new radio show, The Fred Thompson Show.

“We are happy to welcome Goldline as one of our first sponsors of The Fred Thompson Show,” said Thompson. “Jeri [Thompson] and I chose Goldline as our source for gold and precious metals. Like many investors, we believe that gold is an important part of a diversified portfolio, especially in these troubled economic times. That’s why we tell our friends and listeners to call Goldline to learn more about acquiring gold.”

While I do invest in Gold, I prefer to shop with APMEX. They are completely reliable with no hidden fees and fair prices. I think gold is a sound investment option since its value continues to increase, even as the value of the dollar declines. However, I think it is important to find a site you can trust before you buy.
